Patrick graduated with a Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia in 1992. He worked in various hospitals in BC and attained a broad base of experiences in both acute care and rehabilitation. He later focused on orthopaedics private practice and opened Ackroyd Physiotherapy Centre in 1996.
Patrick holds a post-graduate Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Therapy (2006) and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapist (FCAMPT). He also pursued his deep interest in acupuncture by completing the Certificate in Medical Acupuncture at University of Alberta (2001) as well as Chan Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) needling in 2008.
Patrick believes that assessing patients as a whole rather than focusing on individual symptoms is vital to having an effective treatment. He utilises soft tissue release, manual/manipulative therapy, needling techniques as well as specific exercise prescription for treatment to achieve an optimal result.
Patrick loves outdoor activities in his free time like hiking, biking as well as kayaking. He also has great interest in how to eat healthy and stay fit.
He is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
